What to Expect at Your First PhysioCare Visit
August 18, 2026 • 6 min read
A first visit should feel unhurried — not like a waiting-room conveyor. At PhysioCare in Oshawa, every appointment is one-on-one. You have your clinician’s full attention for the whole session, in a private treatment room.
Before you arrive
Download the patient intake forms and bring signed copies if you can. Arrive 10–15 minutes early so reception can confirm your details. Please bring photo ID, your insurance card or claim number (if you have one), a list of medications, and any imaging reports.
Wear clothing you can move in. Shorts and a loose top make shoulder, hip, and spine assessments easier. There is free parking behind the building at 115 Simcoe St. South.
What happens in the room
- Conversation first. We ask how the problem started, what makes it better or worse, and what you need to get back to — work, sleep, sport, or lifting a child.
- Physical assessment. Movement, strength, and hands-on tests help us find the driver, not just the sore spot.
- A plan you can follow. You leave knowing what we think is going on, what we will treat, and what you can do at home.
- Treatment on day one when it is safe. Most first visits include some hands-on care or exercise, not only paperwork.
Time, billing, and follow-up
We are open Monday–Friday 9:00am–6:30pm (last weekday appointment 6:30pm) and Saturday 9:00am–4:00pm. We direct-bill most extended health plans, MVA, and WSIB. You do not need a doctor’s referral to start physiotherapy or massage, though some insurers still ask for one for reimbursement.
If you are nervous, say so. We would rather slow the assessment down than push past your comfort. Call 905-240-6266 and we will get you booked.
